WLDLN Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how WLDLN (”we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and discloses your personal information when you use our website or purchase our products. It also outlines your rights under the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). WLDLN is committed to handling your personal information in an open and transparent way in accordance with the APPs . By using our site or providing your information, you consent to the practices described in this Policy.

1. What Information We Collect

We may collect various types of personal information from you in order to provide our services. The types of information we collect include:

• Identity and Contact Information: Name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping address. We collect these when you create an account, place an order, or contact us.

• Payment Information: When you make a purchase, our payment providers (e.g. Stripe or Afterpay) collect payment details such as your credit/debit card number or banking information. WLDLN itself does not store your full card numbers. However, we do retain transaction details (e.g. the fact that you paid via Visa or Afterpay and the amount and date of payment) for order records.

• Order and Transaction Information: Records of products you purchase, order numbers, dates and times of orders, and any correspondence or complaints relating to orders.

• Account Information: If you register an account, we will collect your login credentials (such as username and password) which are stored in encrypted form. We may also store your preferences, wish list, or sizing information if you choose to provide them in your account profile.

• Device and Usage Information: When you visit our website, we automatically collect some information about your device and how you interact with our site. This may include your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring website. We may use cookies or similar tracking technologies to gather this information (see Cookies and Analytics below).

• Cookies and Tracking Data: Cookies are small data files stored on your browser. We use cookies to remember your preferences (like items in your cart), to understand site usage, and to provide a better user experience. Our site may also utilize third-party analytics tools (like Google Analytics) that use cookies and similar technologies to collect usage data.

• Communication Data: Copies of communications you send to us, whether via email, contact forms, or social media messages. This can include queries, feedback, or any other information you choose to provide.

We will only collect sensitive information (such as health or ethnicity data) if required for a specific purpose and with your consent or as otherwise allowed by law. Generally, our website does not seek sensitive information from customers.

2. How We Collect Personal Information

We collect personal information directly from you in most cases:

• When You Provide It: You directly give us most information when you: create an account, place an order, fill in forms on our site, subscribe to our newsletter, enter a promotion or survey, or contact us for support. For instance, you’ll enter your name and address at checkout, or your email when signing up for emails.

• Through Your Use of the Site: As you navigate and interact with our website, we may automatically collect usage and device data (as described above) via cookies, logs, and similar technologies. For example, we log when you visit certain pages or click on products.

• From Third-Party Services: We may receive some information from third parties that integrate with our site. For example, if you choose to log in via a social media account or a third-party authentication service, those platforms may share some info with us (according to their privacy settings and policies). Additionally, when you use payment providers like Stripe or Afterpay, they might provide us with confirmation of your payment and certain details needed to verify the transaction.

• Public Sources or Referrals: We generally do not collect data about individuals from public sources. However, if someone purchases a gift for you through our site and provides your address or contact info for delivery, we collect that information from the purchaser.

If we receive unsolicited personal information (information we didn’t ask for) and determine we could not have collected it under this Policy or the APPs, we will securely destroy or de-identify it, provided it is lawful and reasonable to do so.

3. Purpose: How We Use Your Information

We collect and use your personal information for the following purposes:

• To Fulfill Orders and Provide Services: We use your information to process and deliver your orders (for example, using your address for shipping), to process payments, provide receipts/invoices, and to handle returns or exchanges. This is the primary reason we collect most information.

• Customer Service: We retain contact and order information to provide support, handle inquiries, complaints, or warranty claims. For instance, if you contact us about a product issue, we will reference your order history and contact details to assist you.

• Personalization: To enhance your shopping experience, we may use your data to personalize the website for you. This could include remembering your preferences or showing you recommendations (e.g., suggesting related products based on your purchase history or browsing).

• Marketing and Promotions: With your consent where required, we may use your email or contact info to send you promotional communications about new products, special offers, or updates about WLDLN. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the email or contacting us. We will not spam you, and will send marketing communications in accordance with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

• Analytics and Improvement: Usage and device information helps us analyze trends and improve our website. We look at metrics like which pages are most visited, how users navigate the site, and what times of day see the most traffic. This analysis helps us fix bugs, optimize site performance, and improve content and product offerings. Any analytics data we use is typically aggregated and does not directly identify individuals.

• Security and Fraud Prevention: We may use personal data (especially account activity and technical data like IP addresses) to monitor for and prevent fraudulent transactions, spam, unauthorized access, or other malicious activities. This helps protect both WLDLN and other customers. For example, we might block an IP that is making repeated failed login attempts or flag an order for manual review if the payment details appear suspicious.

• Legal Obligations: In some cases, we need to use or keep your information to comply with legal requirements. For instance, we retain transaction records for accounting and tax purposes, and we may use or disclose information if required by a court order or law enforcement request.

• Other Purposes (with your consent): If we ever need to use your personal information for a purpose not covered above, we would seek your consent to do so. You have the right to refuse or withdraw such consent.

We will not use your personal information for purposes other than those outlined above or which are reasonably expected, unless we obtain your consent or have a legal basis to do so.

4. Disclosure of Your Information (Third Parties)

WLDLN respects the confidentiality of your personal information and will disclose it to third parties only in certain circumstances. The types of entities we may share your data with include:

• Service Providers: We use trusted third-party companies to perform functions on our behalf, and they may require access to personal data to carry out their work. This includes:

• Payment Processors: As noted, Stripe and Afterpay will receive relevant personal and payment information to process your transactions (e.g., card details, name, email, billing address). They handle this information under their own privacy policies and security measures.

• Shipping and Logistics Partners: We provide your name, address, and contact number (and sometimes email) to postal services or courier companies (e.g., Australia Post or courier firms) to deliver your orders or handle returns.

• IT and Hosting Providers: Our website might be hosted on servers provided by third-party hosting companies or cloud services. These providers may incidentally have access to stored data as part of their server management. We choose reputable providers with strong security practices.

• Analytics and Advertising Partners: We may share some site usage data (often through cookies) with analytics platforms like Google Analytics to help us understand site traffic. This information is typically de-identified or aggregated. If we use any advertising or retargeting services in future, data shared will be pseudonymous (e.g., a cookie identifier).

• Email/Marketing Platforms: If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address and name may be stored in a third-party email service platform (for example, MailChimp, SendGrid, or similar) that we use to send out newsletters. They only use this information to send emails on our behalf.

• Professional Advisors: We may disclose relevant information to our accountants, auditors, insurers, or lawyers where necessary for them to provide their services to us. For example, an auditor might review random customer transactions for compliance, or a lawyer might need order details if a legal claim arises.

• Business Transfers: If WLDLN undergoes a business transition such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or part of its assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that deal. If such a transfer occurs, we will ensure the new owner at least maintains the same protections for your data as described in this Policy, or we will notify you to obtain consent if required by law.

• Legal Requirements and Protection: We may disclose your information if required to do so by Australian law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with legal obligations. This includes responding to lawful requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order, subpoena, or law enforcement investigation). We may also disclose data where necessary to protect our rights, property, and safety, or those of our customers or others. For example, we might share information with law enforcement to investigate fraud or a cyber incident.

When disclosing information to third parties, we only share what is reasonably necessary for them to perform their function. We do not sell your personal information to any third-party for profit.

5. Third-Party Services and Afterpay/Stripe

Our website may contain links to external sites or services, and we also integrate with third-party payment options:
• External Links: If you click a link to a third-party website (for example, an Instagram link or a referenced article), those sites are outside our control and not covered by this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any external sites you visit.

• Stripe Payments: If you choose to pay with a credit/debit card, the payment will be processed by Stripe. Stripe may collect and handle your payment information directly on their systems. Stripe’s Privacy Policy and security standards will apply to the information you provide them. WLDLN does not have access to your full card details, though we may receive limited information to confirm the transaction (like the last 4 digits of your card, card type, and outcome of the charge). We trust Stripe to handle your information securely and in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

• Afterpay: If you select Afterpay as your payment method, you will be redirected or will interact with Afterpay’s system to complete your purchase. Afterpay will collect certain personal information (such as your identity and account details with them) to approve and manage your installment payments. WLDLN receives confirmation of your order payment from Afterpay, but we do not get your detailed financial information from them. By using Afterpay, you consent to their collection and use of your data under their terms. We recommend reviewing Afterpay’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service when choosing this option.

• Social Media and Marketing Partners: WLDLN may maintain a presence on social media platforms like Instagram or Facebook. If you interact with us on those platforms (for example, by messaging us, commenting, or tagging us), those interactions are also governed by the privacy policies of the respective platform. We may repost or feature user content from social media (with proper credit), and if you prefer we not do this, please let us know.

In all cases, while we select reputable third parties, WLDLN is not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties outside our control. However, if you have a concern about a third party we use (like a payment provider) we will do our best to help resolve it or provide you with information.

6. Cookies and Analytics

• Cookies: As noted earlier, our site uses cookies to improve your experience. For example, cookies allow the website to remember items in your shopping cart, even if you leave and come back. They also let us track aggregate usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings — for instance, you can choose to block or delete cookies. However, please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of our site (for example, you might not be able to stay logged in or the cart may not remember items).

• Types of Cookies: We use both session cookies (which expire when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which remain until they expire or you delete them). Some cookies are necessary for the site to function (e.g., for login sessions or cart), while others are for analytics or marketing. We may in the future use targeting or advertising cookies to market our products, but if we do so we will update this Policy and provide opt-out options.

• Analytics: We use third-party analytics tools like Google Analytics to collect information about site usage. These tools use cookies and scripts to collect data such as what pages you visit, how long you stay, how you came to the site (e.g., via a search engine or an ad), and where you click. This information helps us understand user behavior and improve our site. The data collected is generally not identifiable to you personally (Google Analytics, for example, provides aggregated reports). Google may store the data it collects on servers outside Australia, but it abides by relevant privacy safeguards. You can opt out of Google Analytics by using a browser add-on if you wish.

• Third-Party Advertising (if applicable): Currently, WLDLN does not serve third-party ads on our site, but in the future we might use services like Facebook Pixel or Google Ads to help with advertising. These services would collect anonymous information about your visits to our site and others, to provide you with targeted ads. If implemented, we will update our cookie notice and ensure compliance with any consent requirements.

• Consent for Cookies: By using our site, you consent to the placement of cookies as described. If you are in a jurisdiction (like the EU) that requires an explicit cookie consent, and if our site is accessed there, we will endeavor to present a cookie banner or obtain necessary consent according to those laws. You always have the option to change your cookie settings.

7. Storage and Security of Data

• Security Measures: WLDLN takes reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorized access, modification or disclosure. We implement industry-standard security measures such as encryption (e.g., HTTPS for our website transactions), secure server infrastructure, firewalls, and access controls to our data. Payment information is handled by PCI-compliant services (Stripe/Afterpay), adding an extra layer of security for financial data.

• Password Protection: If you have an account on our site, it is protected by a password that you create. It is very important that you choose a strong password and keep it confidential. We also encourage you to update your password periodically and contact us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account.

• Data Storage Location: The data we collect is primarily stored in digital format on secure servers. These may be located in Australia or in other countries. Currently, we use [placeholder for hosting provider], which stores data on servers [in Australia / in [Country]]. If our data storage changes (for example, moving to a cloud provider with servers overseas), we will update this Policy. Rest assured, even if stored overseas, your data will be managed in accordance with Australian privacy standards and this Policy.

• Retention: We will retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which we collected it, and as required by law. For example, we may keep your order information for a number of years to comply with tax and accounting laws , and to have a record in case of any future issues. If we no longer require personal information for any purpose, and we are not legally required to keep it, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

• Data Breaches: In the unlikely event of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm (as defined by Australian law), we will promptly notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme. We have a data breach response plan in place to handle such situations.

8. International Data Transfers

As WLDLN grows, we want you to be aware of how your data might be transferred or accessed globally:

• Within Australia: Currently, our primary operations are in Australia, and we aim to store data on servers located in Australia whenever feasible. This ensures data is protected under Australian privacy law.

• Cross-Border Disclosure: However, some of our third-party service providers or future business operations may be based outside Australia. For example, if we use a cloud email service or an analytics service with overseas servers, your personal information could be held or processed in a foreign country (such as the United States, Europe, or Asia). Australian Privacy Principle 8 (APP 8) requires that if we disclose personal information to overseas recipients, we take reasonable steps to ensure they protect it similarly . We will only transfer data to third parties in countries that have robust data protection laws or where we have agreements in place to protect your information.

• Countries of Storage: If practicable, we will let you know which countries your data may be stored or accessible in . For example, if our email marketing provider stores data in the US or our cloud backup is in EU datacenters, we will specify that here once known. (As of the last update of this Policy, our main data storage is in Australia.)
• International Sales: When we begin selling to or shipping to other countries, we may need to transfer customer data to those locales (for example, providing a European warehouse with shipping information). Such transfers will only be done as needed for the service and in compliance with applicable privacy laws. We will update our practices and this Policy to comply with any country-specific requirements (for instance, GDPR for Europe, if applicable).

• Your Acknowledgment: By providing us with your personal information, you consent to the disclosure of your information to third parties who are based overseas as described. While those overseas recipients will often be subject to privacy and confidentiality obligations, please note that if they are outside of Australia, they may not always be bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). However, we will make every effort to ensure they handle your data in line with our commitments here.

If you do not wish for your personal information to be transferred outside Australia, please contact us. However, please be aware that limiting international transfer might affect our ability to provide some services to you (for example, if our payment processor uses overseas servers, we may not be able to process your transaction without such transfer).

9. Accessing and Correcting Your Personal Information

• Access: You have the right to request access to the personal information that WLDLN holds about you. For example, you can ask us to confirm whether we are processing your data and to provide you with a copy of it. We will respond to access requests within a reasonable timeframe and as required by law. In most cases, we will provide the information for free. However, if the request is unusually complex or repetitive, we may charge a reasonable fee to cover our costs, as permitted by law.

• Correction: We take reasonable steps to ensure the personal information we hold is accurate, up-to-date, and complete. If you believe any information we have about you is incorrect, incomplete, or outdated, you have the right to request that we correct it. You can also update some of your information by logging into your WLDLN account (for example, you can change your contact details or address in your profile settings). If you need assistance updating your info, contact us and we will help to correct it.

• Process for Requests: To request access to or correction of your personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer (contact details in Section 11). We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling the request (to ensure we don’t disclose your data to someone else). In some cases, we might have to refuse access or correction requests, but we will only do so in accordance with the law. For instance, we might refuse access if providing it would unreasonably impact someone else’s privacy, or if it relates to anticipated legal proceedings. If we refuse your request, we will provide you with a written explanation and inform you of any mechanisms to complain about the refusal.

• Destruction of Data: If you request, and if it’s feasible and lawful, we can also delete your personal information. Keep in mind there are records we may need to keep by law or for legitimate business purposes (like proof of transactions). But if you, for example, want to close your account and have us erase the associated personal data, we will do so except to the extent we need to retain certain information.

10. Your Rights and Choices

• Opt-Out of Marketing: As mentioned, you can opt out of marketing emails or newsletters at any time. Simply click the “unsubscribe” link in any promotional email or contact us requesting to be removed from our mailing list. Transactional emails (like order confirmations and shipping notifications) will still be sent as they are part of the purchase process.

• Disable Cookies: You have choices with cookies – you can set your browser to refuse some or all cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being used. Refer to your browser’s help documentation to manage cookies. Additionally, tools like browser extensions can help manage tracking. Note that disabling cookies may impact your ability to use certain features of our site (like staying logged in).

• Do Not Track Signals: Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting. At this time, our website does not respond to DNT signals in any special way, because there is not a consensus on how to interpret them. We treat all user data in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If standards emerge for DNT, we will revisit this approach.

• Complaints: If you believe we have breached your privacy rights or the APPs, you have the right to make a complaint. We ask that you contact us first, so we have the opportunity to resolve the issue directly. We take privacy complaints seriously and will investigate and respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) or other relevant supervisory authority in your country (if outside Australia).

• Anonymity: Where practicable, you have the option to interact with us anonymously or under a pseudonym (for example, general inquiries where you don’t want to give your name). However, for ordering products or certain services, we will need your identifying information to fulfill those requests (e.g., shipping an order to you requires a real name and address).

11. Updates to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make changes, we will post the updated version on our website and change the “Last updated” date at the bottom. If the changes are significant, we may also notify you by email or by a notice on the homepage. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.

Your continued use of our website or services after any update to this Privacy Policy will indicate your acceptance of the changes, to the extent permitted by law. If you do not agree with any changes, you should stop using the site and can contact us to exercise your rights (for example, to delete your account).
